It's been long overdue, but we finally have an updated Piper Flyer Association website. Note that we are using Piperflyer.com rather than .org. Your old links should still work and redirect to this site. As you browse and use the site, please let me know if you notice any issues.

Having Aircraft Spruce in your backyard is a blessing and curse at the same time. I have spent $$$ I didn't plan on spending because "it's just right there". Also, when you're a friendly chap like I am, you end up picking up orders for your friends while forgetting to get your stuff!

Also, just to rub it in, AS West offers such excellent service that they will shuttle you to and from KAJO or deliver your order directly to your tie-down/hangar! If you are near a AS store near an airport, call the store and ask if they have that shuttle.

I’m flying tomorrow, so I shall recycle the breaker several times before flight and after any failure. Sod’s law says it won’t happen at all tomorrow.

The alternator breaker. There were times that I would get the annunciation very early in the flight (soon after startup) but most of the time it was after flying for a little while and then it would happen repeatedly even after cycling the alternator switch on and off.

Christopher,
Thanks for passing on this tip. I hope the folks out there appreciate how wonderful it is to have an aircraft supply store like Aircraft Spruce on the next block.
I have also started using EZ TURN fuel lube as a thread lube for pipe type threads. My experience is that it works great.
Best,
Steve

Hi Chuck,
Thanks for weighing in with this troubleshooting tip. Many of our airplanes are still flying with circuit breakers that are pretty long in the tooth, as they say.
Best,
Steve

Hi Charles

Thank you for taking the time to write. The problem is not resolved as yet. I too replaced the alternator when it first occurred around two years ago, however, the indication still exists. I can get it from startup and intermittently at any point during the flight. The output remains good throughout and the standby alt never kicks in. Which cct breaker was causing the issue?

Not sure if you've been able to resolve your problem yet, but I had a very similar issue happen about a year ago. After my maintenance guys replaced the alternator (which I was sure was OK but they insisted it wasn't) and 2 voltage regulators (one which was identical to the VR in the plane and the second being one recommended in an old AD), the problem ended up being a $20 circuit breaker. It was heating up and failing over and over again. My issue would happen about 1 1/2 hours into a flight and then intermittently from then on.

Hope someone can help on interior plastics. need to order new interior plastics for seneca III. (220T). tried to use old plastics and re-wrap but they were made for the installed curtains. not interested in 80's curtains and now large gap between edge of plastic and window. Parts manual actually shows two part numbers, one with curtains and one without. Called premier plastics and asked if they had the correct length plastics ( gave them the correct part numbers). they had assortment of both, but not all of either. can of find that hard to believe that two injection molds were made for an addition
3/4 lip

anyone had this issue?

Oddly, but related to this…. My right main quick is now leaking. I think it’s jealous.

This time, I’m replacing both main tank quick drains and putting this issue to bed!
