Hi William;
I have a copy of SB 769. It refers to service kit 760 542V which is a kit to install the back up actuator over ride mechanism.
Since your airplane already has the over ride lever installed you can go ahead and install the auto gear extension removal kit if you want to.
I’ve added a pdf of 769.

Gear will not retract in flight
-
I have a 1971 PA28R-200 serial number 28R7135140, I have just received the auto gear extension removal kit 765-303; I ordered it because I felt it was preventing me from retracting the gear, and I don’t feel I need it. I also ordered a new squat switch in case it was bad. What is now confusing is what parts of kit 765-303 are applicable and what are not since SB866A refers to SB 769 which does not exist and is noted in several places in the kit. The kit assumes you have complied with SB769. Piper sure mucked this one up.
After take off the gear retracts, but in flight if I put the gear down it subsequently will not retract even with the gear override lever up. I have adjusted the squat switch per the manual and did several gear swings, although it took several cycles of the override up handle to get it to operate. Not sure what is going on.
