Followup: As soon as I removed the floor under the center seats, I saw the pump, and the fuel valve and remembered I had seen it there everytime we did an annual. I had pulled the circuit breaker and reset it several times, but the pump would not come on. I had my A&P/IA out and we checked the voltage to the pump and there was no voltage. He pulled and reset the CB a few times (probably with a little more force than I had), and the pump came on. He reset the CB and tried the pump several times, and the pump always came on.
It may be that for some reason the CB popped but did not physically extend to the out (off) position. I will keep monitoring the pump at every engine startup (and periodically test it in the hanger: Master Switch – On, Fuel Pump – On, Listen for Fuel Pump working) to make sure there is no reoccurrence. If it ever happens again, we will probably replace the circuit breaker.
Note that the pump is a Weldon Pump, manufactured on 4/5/15, and installed in July 2016, so it had only been in use for a little less than 4 years. P/N: 10080-B. Glad it wasn’t the pump, as a rebuilt one from Aircraft Spruce is around $1269 + core exchange.
