    Golf cart is nice when needing to move plane around airport but don’t really want to start plane up (like going to the wash rack)

    My mechanic LOVES having the golf cart as a tug and has a tool chest in the back.

    At this point I am doing fairly well with the setup I have, a golf cart with hitches on front and back. It takes a little getting used to getting it in the hangar but otherwise has been easy and very useful. I have a hand tow bar that I carry in the baggage compartment for “on the road” but barely ever use it.
    I got the golf cart with the plane and did about $1000 in batteries and repairs to get it right. But I figure it’s worth $2500 now so I’m happy with it.

    They are OK on flat country, I have a Seneca v and we have a 4” ramp into the hanger and they don’t handle it to well. The week spot is the trigger mechanism. I’ve replaced 3 in 9 months and only yesterday I was told it’s on the way out again.
    If you have a flat entrance and fly once a month they are fine. But once a week and a ramp,you may experience problems.

    Hi Eric;
    I don’t have any experience with one; perhaps some of our readers do.

    OK, maybe not really maintenance but I am curious if anyone has tried the GoTow tug that is powered by an electric drill? I had never seen one before. My hangar neighbor (who has a Piper Arrow AND a Pitts!) had a “tug” that is powered by a drill. Very neat!
    I think they had this “sidewinder”

    I also see the GoTow Tug online. You have to buy a Piper adapter.

    Just wondering if anyone else has tried this and liked it. My neighbors seemed pretty pleased with theirs.
