Yes, my oil filter is right next to the firewall. There is just enough room to get the wrench on the filter to remove / tighten and there are no hoses in the way. It’s a little tight to get the filter out when removing (without spilling oil), but very doable (in my opinion).
Owner oil change???

You’ve ” read my mind”! Thanks. Looking forward to that issue
My engine compartment is hose heavy! Is your oil filter near the engine fire wall?
ThanksThanks !
Replying to myself…Am just completing annual. Talked with my A&P last evening. On a Saratoga, the oil filter is located in a VERY difficult to access location. Hoses need to be removed to gain adequate space. SO….I won’t be attempting “home” oil changes!
Just inquiring if anyone changes their own oil? I fly a 2001 SARATOGA II TC. I am executing 25 hour changes to protect the turbo. Any suggestions? Tips? Just purchased a Khlusman oil filter cutter.
Thanks
