The actuating cylinders on your PA 32R are easy to remove, disassemble, check for wear, re-install new seals and re install. The process is explained in detail in the service manual. The seals required are standard seals; there’s nothing exotic or difficult about either the seals or the re sealing practice.
As far as the nose gear door; I don’t know that LoPresti cowl but can’t tell you where to look for your door problem. There could be something wrong with the linkage to the hanging door; sorry I can’t help further on that one.

I just received this message from the shop doing my annual: Both main gear actuators leaking. I am seeing the new actuators for around $1395 each with a 30 day lead time. Labor to replace both actuators is estimated at $400. My question: Can the actuators be rebuilt instead of buying new?
Also having intermittent nose gear up problem: I have a Lo Presti mod and the nose wheel gear door does not always completely close. I mounted a camera to see exactly what was happening and it appears that it’s the right door that stays fully open. After cycling the gear a few times, it will properly close. Any ideas?
