Absolutely worth the upgrade. The old AP would “hunt” +/- 100ft, the GFC500 is rock solid.

I just replaced the original 2 axis Altimatic IIIc AP in my 1977 PA32. Message me if you would like to purchase it for a very low price. It was working when removed. The cost of a new Garmin GFC500 installed with necessary servos and G5 was north of $20,000.

I have a 1975 PA 32-300. I’d like to add an autopilot with alt hold capability. Has anyone done this and what was the total cost? Thanks
