Hi Tripp, I currently own and fly an Arrow III non-turbo. The extra costs will very a lot depending on how well the gear has been maintained in your aircraft before you buy it. Since I bought my Arrow, I’ve spent about 4k on gear work. The pressure relief value went bad and the replacement was about $3500. I also replaced the up and down gear switches for another $1000. My gear should be trouble free now as long as the power pack doesn’t decide to quit. Also, expect to pay about twice as much for insurance depending on how many retract hours you have. My current insurance runs about $2100 annually. I would encourage you to get the Arrow over the Archer for many reasons. Don’t let the gear scare you away. Just have it inspected very well during prebuy.
