My trusty Garmin GNS-530W is going to be replaced toward the end of the year with a shiny new Avidyne IFD-540. I hope to write an article for PFA on the transition come the end of the year. I can say this, however. I will miss my 530W immensely but look forward to the 540. I’ve already downloaded the 540 simulator and it’s hugely different from the 530W. We’ll see how this change works out. In the meantime, if you’re interested in a 530W please let me know. It’ll be available around the end of the year when the 540 shows up.
