Shut off fuel including primer and still runs.. Mechanic says need new carburetor. Curre nt one has 7500+ hours on it. 1977 Warrior.

Shut off fuel including primer and still runs.. Mechanic says need new carburetor. Curre nt one has 7500+ hours on it. 1977 Warrior.

“…the engine/prop combo is going to continue to rotate for a few seconds; there’s nothing except the compression stroke of the cylinders to stop the rotating mass (crankshaft, prop and other parts) after the fuel has been cut off.”

After shutting down, engine and prop continue to windmill for a few seconds. Is this a problem?
