I believe Sound X is the company Air Mod, a highly regarded interior shop owned by Dennis Wolter, uses. Wolter writes for Piper Flyer.

I installed Sound-X as part of an interior restoration. I pulled the old fiberglass out one piece at a time and used it as a template and duplicated each piece with an electric carving knife. It worked pretty well.

I would like to replace my insulation with a FAA Approved product that provides soundproofing and environmental protection. Aircraft Spruce has a free installation book from a manufacturer. I need more information from other installers and why they chose their product and are they happy with their selection.
