    Hi Joe,

    Time to head to a reputable avionics shop and get guidance. I’m not sure what kind of a budget you’re on but getting a modern waas/gps should be under consideration. A used Garmin 430 or something newer would be appropriate. Also, if the king radio is an old kx-170 and you’re on a budget, you can install a new plug and play mx-170 and get modern digital performance without any wiring or panel teardown. Best to go over your options with your radio shop.

    Thank you! if you checked out the blog you’ll see that we’re hoping to try and start the engine this week. We found this past weekend that we had chrome cylinders and there were no obvious signs of corrosion on them. We are hopeful she will fire up without issue.

    I’m sure tho I will need some help finding parts 🙂

    I gotta figure out what to do with my radios now…I have a KLX135 and a King radio that is screechy as hell. I”m not sure if the radio is bad or if the connectors just need to be clean (could be the antenna as well)

    Awesome Joseph! I’m here to help any time you need me. I’ve owned seven airplanes of which five were Pipers and I’m currently restoring a Seneca. If I can do anything to assist you with your new airplane, please let me know. I’m eager to help!

    Hello all,

    Glad I was able to find you guys after reading this months AOPA magazine…last week I purchased my first plane a 72 PA28-140 she was the airport ‘dog’ and I am working on restoring her back to flyable condition.
