    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the update on Skygeek. I’ve never ordered from them so it’s good to get a report from a user.
Yes, an update is always welcome.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

I have the parts on order and I’m not very happy with Skygeek. Besides that I’m not use to a schrader valve not having an o-ring and using an aluminum washer as the seal. I was just wondering if anyone has pulled a top mounted schrader valve lately and if it just had the washer. When I pulled mine neither had a washer and one had an o-ring. According to my parts book that not correct. When I get the new ones I’ll install them per the parts manual, but will be surprised if it doesn’t leak. I’ll keep you posted.

    Hi Steve,
Your parts manual shows that the valve is an AN 812-1. You can buy one here: https://skygeek.com/dill-controls-sk15171-302-637-strut-valve.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwm8WZBhBUEiwA178UnOo56HzQTaHCzPjzzJKzXHrUyhjyFaS7J6AT1HI408KrL-DukWbIehoC7E0QAvD_BwE.
The aluminum gasket to seal this valve is AN 907-5A.
You may have different valve, one that requires you to turn a nut on the body to remove pressure. That is a heavy duty valve that is not required on your Cherokee.

I’m servicing my landing gear struts before the cold weather arrives. Neither of my main gear valve cores would come out so I removed the schrader valves for replacement. I noticed the parts manual shows no o-ring just an aluminum washer. The schrader valves removed had no washer and one had an o-ring. They never leaked. There’s really no grove in the schrader valve for an o-ring and I don’t want to install them with an o-ring if it doesn’t call for one. Anyone have any experience replacing there’s lately?
