Key Field, sounds awesome. Thanks for the information and the tips. Hotdogs, pizza, and crew cars makes it worth the stop!

Key Field is an historic airport but still very busy. I use it as a “halfway” spot to rest, get fuel and/or overnight. The FBO has great facilities with free snacks that will include popcorn, ice cream and hot dogs for lunch (sometimes pizza!). Of course they have beverages and all the standard stuff too. Even better they have very nice crew cars available for overnight if needed. There are a number of hotels/restaurants in a short radius to choose from so this is a nice overnight. The airport is controlled but the controllers seem pilot friendly. Be aware that is a lot of military traffic here and they tend to use the big runway (01/19) while the little guys like me use the shorter one (04/22). Hey, it’s shorter but still over 5,000 feet long! Even better, the military trainers will park right next to you so you can get up close to the kerosene burners.
