    Do:
    Be Nice:
It’s no secret that pilots have opinions, and although this forum is online we expect you to act at least as well as you would when meeting in person at the airport. You might debate the finer points of how to change your oil or whether or not to fly lean of peak, but at the end of the day you want to sit down as friends and share a cold beverage (or two). Every member deserves to be treated with respect. Positive and polite posts create a friendly and welcoming environment that all members will feel comfortable in.
    Think Before Posting:
Sensible, well thought-out and legible posts help other members understand what is being explained.
    Post in Relevant Section(s):
Posting in the most relevant section will ensure threads are seen by members most interested in the subject. Threads posted in the wrong section will generally be moved by moderators.
    Remain on Topic:
Threads should remain on the topic being discussed. If they start to veer too far off course, a new thread should be made for a new discussion.
    Report Content:
Reported content is sent to staff members for review. If a post needs staff attention because it breaks the rules, needs to be modified or moved the report system is the correct way to alert the staff.
    Respect the Forum Staff:
Feedback is welcome in Forum Feedback & Help , this is also the place to request assistance with forum software issues. If you believe an error has been made in moderation or other staff actions, please contact us and help us understand your perspective.

    Don’t:
    Behave in a Malicious Manner:
Do not behave in a manner that can cause distress, harm or inconvenience to other members, staff or the forum itself. This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination, bullying, offensive material, using multiple forum accounts, breaching others privacy and accessing others accounts without permission.
    Engage in Illegal Activity:
Piper Flyer Association Forum is located in the United States, United States law must be followed at all times. This includes Copyright law and Computer Misuse law (Malware, Virus etc.).

Post any of this, including in external links:
    • Porn, gross stuff, or anything else not safe for work
    • Piracy, warez, Leaked content.
    • Threats of violence or harassment, even as a joke
    • Posting copyrighted material such as magazine scans
    • Soliciting, begging, auctioning, selling, advertising, referrals, except as permitted in specified “For Sale” or other specially designated forums
    • Racism, discrimination
    • Religious, political, and other “prone to huge arguments” threads
    • Spam

    Troll, Attack or Flame:
Trolling is posting in a way that provokes emotional responses and adds nothing to the discussion.
Attacks and derogatory terms of any kind are not welcome.
Flames are messages that personally attack or call any people names or otherwise harass. These, along with any generally condescending posts will be edited or removed at the moderators discretion.
If a thread is flame-bait (appears to be intended to start an argument or is likely to cause an argument rather than enhance discussion, as in trolling), it will be locked or removed without notice. Individual flame-bait comments in a post may be deleted or edited at the moderators’ discretion.
If the thread turns into an argument, it can be closed to further comment or removed without notice. Sometimes a moderator may edit thread in order to keep the discussion going, this is not always possible.

    Create Multiple Accounts:
Users may only have one active account. If you feel you have justification for requiring a new account, please contact an administrator to discuss your situation. Users who have multiple accounts without approval of an administrator may be penalized or banned.

    Be Judicious with:
    Profanity:
Use of swear words is not expressly prohibited – this is a pilot’s forum – but use prudence and always respect your fellow members.

    Other Rules & Disclaimers

The appropriate Forum Moderators have the right to edit, censor, delete or otherwise modify any posted message.

Don’t post any sensitive information. Moderators will remove personal information from posts to protect your privacy. Make use of Private Messaging to provide contact information to other members.
    Images:
Be prudent in your use of images; they may help to explain something more clearly or indicate a problem you are experiencing better than just words, but you have to remember that not everyone has the same bandwidth.
