I am considering doing the eddy current inspection on my ’67 PA-28-140. I know, I know, that model is not covered by any of the current AD’s requiring it, but I am looking for further peace of mind when I fly me and my family that the airplane is in good shape. To add to this, my aircraft does have some damage history in it’s past, which adds to the concern based on Piper’s SB from back in the 80’s.
Anyway, I am located in the northern Virginia area and was wondering if there is a NDT service for this area? If any other reader may be from this part of the country and has had this done, I would like to know.
I have also attached the raw data from the FAA’s first AD responses for the wing spar crack reports. The data presented by the FAA in the proposed AD”s is lacking and doesn’t tell the true story. The data attached is from the following source… https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/pa28-32-wing-spar-ad-show-me-the-data.147900/
Thanks for the help,
Aaron
