I can’t offer any specific experiences on overhauls, but I’ve used QAA for the 250 hour inspection on my Slick 6351’s. I was happy with them and will be using them for the 500 hour inspection as well. Mike Busch suggests Aircraft Magneto Service in some of his writings. Good luck!

Thanks Steve. I’ve talked to a few other folks in the last 24 hours, and everyone seems to agree with you; Aircraft Magneto Service is the only way to go. So it’s settled, I’m going to send my mags to them!

I’ve known the founder, Cliff and his son Don for over 40 years. Magnetos is all they do.

I’ve got an O-320 being overhauled, so am looking for a shop to overhaul the mags.  In my online research, it looks like prices vary quite a bit, with some overhauls being close to the cost of new mags.  I will likely end up going with a new-fangled electronic mag on one side, but will send one or both of these Slicks out to someone.  Any recommendations will be appreciated!
