We know you, like us, have never seen times exactly like these before. Almost 19 years ago, just after 9/11, we were grounded temporarily but were soon allowed back into our aircraft and the sky. Now we are free to fly, but with the shutdown of restaurants and many other businesses we are faced with nowhere to go.
We are taking this opportunity to provide an update on Sporty’s status during the COVID-19 outbreak and make you aware of the steps we are taking to ensure you, our customer, can count on us today and in the future, just as you have in the past.
Our first priority, like you, is our family. Powered aviation was 58 years old when this business started in 1961 and we spent the next 58+ years building our current staff of aviation experts, producing and delivering the products you use to make your flying more convenient and safer. In an effort to protect our staff—our family—we are practicing “social distancing” and invoking additional sanitation procedures here in Sporty’s headquarters at the Clermont County Airport. These steps allow work to continue as we update, revise and improve our award winning 2020 Learn to Fly Course, our Instrument Rating Course, and our brand new Commercial Pilot Test Prep Course.
Our next priority is to you, our customer. You may rest assured your order will be carefully selected, packaged, and shipped to your door just like always. Our customer service department is open and stands ready to answer your questions, order takers are still on the phones, we are still opening mail orders, and of course our online portals are open for your internet business. In accordance with guidance from both our state and federal government naming transportation as an essential industry, our FBO remains open for both our locally-based and transient aircraft.
We intend to keep our commitment to the aviation industry. During our nearly 60-year history we have seen good times and bad. We know that neither lasts forever. Eventually the COVID-19 restrictions will end and we look forward to seeing you at EAA’s annual Airventure in Oshkosh and other prominent aviation gatherings where Sporty’s has become a fixture. We will work hard to come out of this situation strong as ever with our lasting commitment offering you the best courses, products, and services. That strength means enthusiasts, pilots, aircraft owners, and CFIs can buy and recommend us with confidence in the guarantee we have used for almost six decades, “If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, let us know—we will make it right.” That’s it—no fine print and no hassle.
