Navajo landing gear issue (downwards)
-
Thank you Kristin.
…but I made a mistake in my question…“Is there any restriction on operating the LG UPWARDS with wings out of level?”
There should be no problem extending the landing gear in a turn. I have done it many times in the PA-31 series.
Hello Piper’s fellows,
We recently had an issue with the up operation of our Navajo’s landing gear (PA-31-350).
Due to a failure of the up limit switch, 24V was not going to the power pack. It was replaced and the ground tests went ok.
In the test flight the landing gear also worked perfectly in 5+ test cycles. However, when I decided to do one cycle (down/up) with the wing 15° banked, the red light did not go off and the cycle did not complete.
So, I put the lever in the neutral position manually and the left leg felt down.
Question: Is there any restriction on operating the LG downwards with wings out of level?
What would be the cause of this?Helio Mario – Brasil
