    Hi James;
    I believe the holes you see are for the through bolts that hold the wheel halves to gether.

    According to the service manual instructions, the installer has to remove the old disc, then use the holes in the wheel to drill new holes in the new disc.

    When I called Cleveland, I was told that is the correct part number

    If you buy it and it doesn’t fit you can send it back.

    Steve..

    The one from ACS has a flange with holes drilled in it. will that still fit into the the wheel like that?

    Hi James,
    The part number for new discs is 159-00204. They are in stock at Aircraft Spruce and Specialty for around $700.
    You’ll need AN 425-AD6-7 rivets to rivet the new disc to your wheel.
    I’ve attached the pages from the service manual on how to replace the disc.

    Hi Tom,
    Research this morning seems to indicate that you have Cleveland wheels. So far my search for new riveted discs has not yielded any results. I’ve reached out to a number of sources and am awaiting their feedback.
    There is a complete new wheel and brake upgrades option available but as with the riveted discs the waters are still a little muddy.
    The retrofit kit is advertised as being for a PA 23-250. I suspect it would fit on your Apache but as far as I can tell this morning, it’s not approved for your airplane. That is more a hiccup than a deal killer because most of the time a field approval for installation on like airplanes is obtainable.
    The down side is that the kit costs over $7000.
    I’ll get back to you when I know more.
    If you have time, I suggest calling salvage yards to see if any of them have airworthy discs (minimum thickness is 0.450″) or wheel/.disc parts. We like Preferred Airparts and Wentworth Aircraft.
    Best,
    Steve

    Hi Tom;
    What engines do you have on your Apache? Seems like that couldn’t apply to brakes but it does.

    I have a set of wheels that have the rotor riveted to the wheel. I can’t find this wheel in the parts manual. What wheels are being used on the 1956 Apache now? You can see the rivets in this shot on the inside upper of the wheel. Any ideas???? or recommendation for another set??
    Thank you Tom
