Was just finished preflight and started up when wait a sec, volts aren’t normal, alt light is on, edm is also saying volts low. Uh oh, no alternator. Check breakers, none popped. Cycled alt switch, no change. Shutdown to check belt again, was there, same as preflight. Anyway long story short, spent a few hours learning my plane, cowling off, plane power alt flowchart in hand. Found an alt switch wire had come loose. So went from a 1-2 AMU scare to a quick fix by my mechanic.
