OK, sorry I couldn’t provide any leads on the drawings you requested. Good luck.
Bogert Battery box Mod/STC

thank you for your assistance. I know what is needed and will look elsewhere.
Don’t you have to submit a drawing of the box you made? Not the Bogart box. Because you’re asking Mr. FAA to approve the box you made.
During my time in Alaska, the FAA guy who approved my field approvals always wanted me to prove that the modifications I wanted him to sign off on, complied with the + 3.8 and – 1.6 loading requirements. I don’t know what your FAA guy will require.
I don’t know what assistance I can provide. Thanks for the reply. It’s already made and test fitted. We’re just looking for a drawing to submit with the 337. My AI and the FAA field office do this type of thing regularly out here in California. They have just not done a revised battery box. Seems it must be “equal or better” for them and that is vertically the case here. The stainless box created is 10 times better than any Piper box. It’s similar, but not exactly like the Bogert box. I would appreciate your assistance if you are willing.
It will if your AI and the local FAA are on good terms. Here where I live, the principal maintenance inspector assigned to my area doesn’t do any field approval 337s. He is allowed but he is prone to do nothing if he can get away with it.
If your battery box is totally kazooogled, it might be quicker and less expensive to get a good one from an airplane salvage yard such as Wentworth, or Texas Air Salvage.
AI says 337 will do it.
Thank you for your suggestion. I am looking for drawings of the box they make. I would like to fabricate something similar myself. Bogert is not inclined to provide drawings of their box.
Although I haven’t installed a Bogart battery box so I don’t have any paperwork, am I correct in assuming that you want the installation instructions, not just the STC approval page?
If you’re seeking answers to specific questions you can probably get what you need by calling Bogart.Does anyone have a copy of the Bogert Battery Box STC for the PA-28 Battery Box Replacement Replacement (STC# SA01582SE) that I could look at?
