Hello,
Currently I am looking after a 78′ PA32R. During this year’s annual, I had noticed that the small capacitor located underneath the master relay sustained some heat damage(Cracked ceramic and visible burn spots). After some research in the wiring diagrams, I realize that this is the Alternator Power Relay Circuit and that PA32Rs where never equipped with a 60A alternator breaker. Does anyone have anymore insist on this component?
On a side note… The owner has had the plane for a little over a year. The airplane has been modified with a full Garmin G3X and GFC 500 system. Its a sweet ride!!! Still chasing some gremlins around though. One that likes to show up every other leg is the charging system disconnecting after a gear up cycle. I’m wondering if this is related. Lost of troubleshooting and parts replaced.
