The kit is currently STC’d for PA-28-181 Archer IIs, with many more PA-28 series aircraft expected to be added by year’s end
GILBERT, ARIZ., June 26, 2019 – M2 Aviation Solutions LLC has announced the release of its Upper Wing Access Panel Kit for Piper aircraft.
The Access Panel Kit will allow for removal and replacement of the main landing gear strut cylinder head O-ring that is required to be replaced during the strut reseal process, and/or removal of the internal strut metering valve without removing the main landing gear strut(s) from the aircraft.
The kit enlarges the original left and right main landing gear strut servicing access holes, located in the upper wing skin, from 1.5 inches to 2.75 inches in diameter. The enlarged access holes are covered with visually appealing corrosion-resistant cover plates and weather-resistant gaskets that are designed to provide superior environmental protection.
Enlarged access holes will allow technicians to perform more thorough inspections of the upper spar in the area where the main landing gear strut attaches to the spar and the strut itself.
Each Access Panel Kit is shipped with the all required hardware for the left and right wing STC installation.
The product is received FAA Approved Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) SA02661LA and is manufactured under M2 Aviation Solutions FAA Approved PMA Number PQ05382NM.
The STC specifies that the product is currently eligible for installation on the Piper PA-28-181 Archer II Aircraft.
Founder Mike Moore recently stated that the product will soon be eligible for installation on the Piper PA-28-161 Warrior II (serial numbers 28-7716001 through 28-8216300); and PA-28-161 Cadet (serial numbers 2841001 through 2841365).
According to Moore, the PA-28-140, -150, -160, -180, -151 and -161 aircraft will be added to the list of eligible aircraft by the end of 2019.
