Excellent!
Arctic Air Ice Chest Cooler

Thanks Steve. I am looking at the small unit, 30 qt. On the small unit from Arctic Air they mentioned a 3.5 AMP draw and 5 AMP requirement on the cigarette lighter. I did not know how many AMP my lighter was protected for. Sounds like I should be all set since you mentioned I have 5 AMP. Thanks for the help!
According to specs on the company webpage, the 12 volt unit draws 5 amps. The sales rep at Arctic Air said the smaller units draw about 4.5 amps so you may be able to get by with what you have. If you want one of the bigger units, the current draw would be higher.
Usually electric motors draw more during initial start so if decide on a small unit and your cigarette lighter is protected by a 5 amp circuit breaker or fuse, you’ll need to check to see if the wire gauge is large enough to handle a larger than 5 amp starting surge. If the wire is large enough you may need to install a larger CB or fuse (8 amps).Curious is anyone has one of these and what they think of it, Arctic Air Ice Chest Cooler. Also would it work with my current cigarette lighter, 5 AMP?
Thanks Fred
