Great! We’ll add them to our list.

Ps: I must be hungry, first read your post as “at KFC”! 🙂

Hi Dave;
An Atlanta area based Comanche owner replied that he takes his Comanche to Gardner Lowe Aviation (https://www.gardneravs.com/contact.aspx) at KFFC. He has been taking his airplane there for over 20 years.
Hi Dave,
Kristin Winter, our resident Comanche expert has recommended Clifton Aero in Clifton, Texas in the past. Not exactly “close” to Atlanta, but could be a resource. cliftonaero.com Tim Talley is the owner.
We’re developing a list of recommended shops for prebuys and other work, so keep us posted.

Hi Dave,
Sorry for the slow response; this new normal has upset a few things around here.
I have reached out to some of the comanche owners I know asking for names of Comanche savvy mechanics around there. I’ll forward those if the replies yield answers.
In the mean time, this article may help:

I have the same question for a PA-24 that is in the Atlanta area, do you have any referrals up in that or the BHM area.
Thanks
Dave Donan
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the info.
As far as the comment it was meant in the most positive way but reading it in your post I can see that I used a poor choice of words.
I apologize to Kristin, you and anyone else that might have taken offense.
Ken
Hi Ken;
You can hire Kristin to do the pre buy.
Not quite sure how to take the statement, “I have also read Kristin’s article and still wish to move forward.” She’s a straight shooter and a long time Twin Comanche owner.
Unfortunately we don’t have a data base of Piper savvy shops we can recommend without question.
I’ll search around to see what I can find.
Steve
Going to look at a Twin Comanche next week and was wondering if anyone had suggestions:
1. For a knowledgeable mechanic to do a pre-buy in central Florida
2. A knowledgeable shop to maintain the aircraft in the north east
3. Any other suggestions that would be helpful
4. An instructor that would be able to work with me to meet insurance req’s for the Twin Comanche.
I do have approximately 4500 hours of multi time and realize that I will need training.
I have also read Kristin’s article and still wish to move forward.
Thank you in advance,
Ken
