Wondering if anyone has any updates on this topic – official or scuttlebutt. I’m preparing for my annual and this is the biggest unknown, by far.

Also, is 653332 a legitimate alternative part number?  I see that in other locations online.  Might be helpful to have as many search terms as possible.   What a mess!

    I agree.
I wish I had better news.

You’re right. I’ve tried these and none have stock.
The July 2025 drop dead date is going to be a huge problem if the AD isn’t modified.

    Hi Scott –
I just did another search for part # 556-108 and this is who I was able to cross-reference.
I believe these will not go anywhere.  a bunch of people are looking for this clamp still.

Did you find a clamp that is serviceable?

    Hi Mark.

You’re probably referring to the V-Band Clamps Piper P/N 556-108.
A note from Acorn Welding in August due to the non-existence of these clamps. .
“So are we developing our own Couplings? Yes, To what extent, I am not sure. I tasked the Turbo Plant to get this done as they control 50% of the design plus can specify the other 50% for the couplings. There is a radical new design that is in the works to solve the issues that exist. Timeline? It likely will take years as there is no clear way to get it approved:– You cant Copy the design as it is already proven flawed– There is an existing fail safe design but it is not in the GA price dollar range– STC would be to burdensome to include and test on each possible combination– TSO would just allow the next guy to rip you off design wise as anyone that meets the TSO will then be able to make one.Hopefully when a path gets agreed upon with the FAA they can release to tooling manufacturing.”

This said – I did do a quick look-see.  Here are a few companies that indicate they have access to one of these.  Please let us know if you end up purchasing one.

Just finished searching for sources for turbo V-clamps for my Turbo Arrow 3.
Does anyone have information about sources. It seems to be backordered everywhere!
