You can check for cracks in the hoses by removing one end and shining a flashlight on the outside while looking inside the hose. I replaced mine with SCEET hoses instead of SCAT. I doubt that increasing hose size will do anything since air input opening will be the same. Also check wiring and compare with the service manual. My IA found some discrepancies that must have happened at the factory.
